12hr FAQs

So if you have a question you want answered here is your chance. I'll start with some of the ones I have and you can ask any others that I will answer.

Q. Do we have to wear the timing bands being used?
A. Yes they MUST be worn on the left ankle of the rider. You swap over in transition and the band maust be swapped too. If a rider completes a lap without a band then the lap will not count. Make sure it is secure and there will be no problem. These bands are very secure when put on properly. You can't put it on your wrist or in your pocket. Every team has to do it so there is no disadvantage.

Q. Do all my team mates have to register if I have paid for the whole team?
A. Yes. Although the system is abit annoying it is because each rider must agree to the waiver. By each rider filling in the team registration form they have met that requirement and won't have to do it on Saturday.

Q. Do I have to register on Saturday if I have already done it online.
A. Yes. We need everyone to pickup their team number plates and timing band as well as gift packs for each rider.

Q. What time is late rego on Saturday?
A. 1pm to 5pm. There is a late fee of $10 per rider. Please don't complain about this as you know the answer. the event is run by mountain bikers who are racing. We aren't in it to make money but to encourage you to help us by making our life easier.

Q. Does it matter if I haven't done a practice lap?
A. You would be mad not to. Even if you think you are going to be doing heaps of laps during the night it is worth knowing what has changed since last week or last year. It is a different course to last year so go out for a casual lap on Saturday afternoon after you set up camp.

Q. I got lost when I tried to do a lap will the course be marked?
A. the course is marked. We will add more markers and bunting on Saturday to make it almost 100% mistake proof. I can say 100% but someone will get lost at some point. Yet another good reason to do a practice lap.

Q. Can I request a particular number plate?
A. Simple answer is no. We need to keep the numbers in sequence to help with the timing system.

Q. Why are the toilet blocks going to be closed?
A. The toilet block at Jarrahdale is old. It can't handle the number of people an dlfushes and the system was completely blocked and unblocked three times during the night last year. In its place we will have 12 portable toilets. This should be more than enough to keep everybody happy. Most of these toilets will be set up in the transition area for quick access. (and yes some will be only for the ladies).

Add more questions if you have them and I will answer them when I get the chance.
