12 HR track CHANGED

OK so after having a bit of a look at it and talking to a few people I have made some changes. IF you know Jarrahdale you will hopefully understand my explanation

AT the top of the first major climb (the one that has always been in the race) you go to the left in stead of carrying on straight ahead. this track then crosses where the trail was before to take a much shorter and fun and traditional route back up to the top of the north shore area or crown as some people have called it. From here it is down the traditional decent not the 6 hr decent and loop back around o the fire road. Up to this point we have pretty much followed the 6hr. This is where the track is different to the 6hr. You cross the fire road and follow the older 12hr circuits through the back area where it is a sandy soil (but not boggy). You follow this up to the top of the fire road decent that has been in most 12hrs and go down the fire road but you turn LEFT not right at the first intersection coming down this trail and go along a fire road for about 100 to 200 metres before turning left to rejoin the 6hr track. You have rejoined the 6hr track just after the tyre berm and before the cross.

Why the changes? For something different and to try and have some balance. The 6hr wasa great track but we couldn't use the same deccent. the track i had in place last week was alright but had an extra climb that was boggy and slow on the first lap let alone all night. I think this track reduces the amount of fire road but still leaves enough in to catch your breath, do some passing eat some food.

I hope you enjoy it and I hope it is well enough marked. I will be out again on Tuesday night to ride the trail from 630 if people are interested.

Thanks
John
