Newbie Questions

Hey guys,

I am quite interested in getting into riding, but have no idea where to start. More specifically, I have no idea where to find some decent trails that are lots of fun yet something a beginner can cope with. I have been riding bikes since I was a kid, but don't have that much off road experience.

So where can I find some details on the different trails around Perth?

Are there many that can be done within a day/ weekend?

Is there a map/ guide book that can be bought for these trails?

And for those of you that go on overnight/longer rides, what camping gear/ food do you carry?

Thanks!!!!

well i started downhill at

well i started downhill at goat farm in midland, i dont know what the road is but its a good place for newbies... you have the fourcross trail thats pretty easy then u have diffrent ones for more expert rides.. i always bring food in the car/water( even tho they have a water tank, shed and toilets on site) hope that helps

you should try out langford

you should try out langford park in jarrahdale, great singletrack, firetrail and a few small jumps. theres a map under the xc race tracks on this website. if your after something a little easier but still off road, try some of the walking trails around armadale hills (settlers common, bungelore park, wungong dam etc...) just make sure you give way to all the trekkers, no-one likes rocks in their face!
