Bike choice for a new guy
Gday everyone,
Im looking to buy a bike and give mountain biking a go as a weekend hobby.
Problem is im not sure what kind of riding ill be doing most of, so im not too sure what kind of bike i want.
Probably the best would be a decent all rounder since ill probably end up doing some XC, some DH and some riding to the shops. Only looking to spend around $1k so im thinking a hardtail to get some decent spec. Also happy to buy second hand.
I've been looking at the Norco Bigfoot/Sasquatch and noticed theres a couple for sale on here. My question is would these be light/useable enough with a M frame for a bit of trailriding and general riding around town as well as jumping/DH?
Another option i've seen in shops that looks ok is the Giant Alias/Talon.
Any tips and advice would be appreciated

The Giant Alias would be perfect except for the dirt jumping. Well, some may have different opinions but I definatly wouldn't dirt jump on one. An stp or specialized p would be ideal as long as your not going to go competitive in XC.
