Hi all
The original 'A' line 'B' line at Turner hill has been changed. All the 'A' line jumps are now doubles and are definitely not rollable! If you used to do the 'A' line then I strongly suggest next time you are out there to stop and check it out before attempting them as they are spaced at a reasonable distance. The 'B' line remains the same.
Have fun
Trackman

Sounds sweet
Thanks for the heads up! I'm taking my new Bullit down there on Saturday morning. I plan to roll nothing!
Has it changed since Sunday 31st arvo?
That log at the very end, with the kicker on it....pure genius! The massive amount of thought and work gone into proper drainage evident was too. Truly the jewel in the crown of W.A. 100% DEC approved trails.
Changes made Monday
The changes to the'A' line went in Monday, I saw your vehicle there on the Sunday but must have just missed you. That new log roll is some sweet action, certainly puts a smile on your dial. Mike, good luck dude, crank hard.
You don't say.
they are spaced at a reasonable distance.
I think the B line just became the A line, and this is now the "JC" line...
Gapman
I think he should be called gapman not trackman!
Cheers
Tuner Hill
Got to agree with your comments Objet , this track is in great shape and so much fun to ride. What a credit to those responsible. I was really enjoying my last ride there....... right up until coming unstuck and cracking two ribs.
Cheers,
Chris.
where abouts is turner
where abouts is turner hill...looks and sounds like fun....
Turner Hill
It's not far from Dwellingup. Check out the map which is in XC race tracks listed in the sidebar.
Ouch!

Yikes! That's no laughing matter! (Sorry) ;)
I had a bit of a surprise when I found the magic log launch had developed into a gap!
Here's an idea:
What if there was a "sticky" thread of current trail warnings, with updates/dates of changes etc? Currently, if a "Trail warning" is just a normal post it can quickly get lost into the next page of topics and people may not see it. Keep it highly moderated so it's not full of extraneous comments.
Thoughts, webadmin?
+1 for enthusiasm
Be quite useful - if we had more than 1 track change / year.
(no, I'm not bitter and cynical...)
Too Extreme Dude
JC, sory but that was a choice A line before the new mods were done, any chance of puting it back how it was? Look I can see it's pretty do-able, but for XC racing it's way over the top! You might say, just do the B line, but the A line before was soooo good and now its gone for most people. C'mon Dude I think you may have pushed the boundry just a little too much. Now take a deep breath, have another carbo shot and get back out there building choice XC tracks, but not Extreme Down Hill eh...
Hey I can remember when a few things I built on the Boddington track were said to be too hard, some Dude even chainsawed my favourite double log-over! Eventualy the average ability was raised and things like log jumps etc are now the norm. So perhaps if a fair amount of people can ride this new section it should stay, but if not please consider....
Cheers

xc upskilling
I actually like the new A line better as the down ramps on the last 2 jumps now provide a smoother landing than the previous flat landings, and I still find the first little double before the log the most disconcerting. You just need to ride it smooth and carry your speed and the big doubles are OK. C'mon Pauly, you can do it!
I do agree that it may be getting a bit extreme for xc racing but Turner Hill is not just for racing.
If you do not take the
If you do not take the a-line will you be taken over by a lot of people in a race?
I have ridden Turner Hill
I have ridden Turner Hill every weekend for the past month... When the doubles were first put in they had gaps of about 3 metres - awesome I thought after mustering up the courage to try and then clearing them all. So imagine my disappointment last weekend when I returned to the scene of my triumph to find them reduced to gaps that could easily be cleared with bunny-hops! Boo to the fun police.
Not by too many
Its a faster line and rewards the A-line rider with an advantage for sure. So it would be possible to gain or loose a couple of positions (dont worry if Jon or JC passes you there). But there will be so few people doing it that it wont matter at all. I do like most of the set up, just not the pits, because if you roll of that log wrong there is just no where to go....... This is strange for me, because I usualy love hard A lines.
Hey Jon, do you just roll into it with the same speed as before? But with a smoother landing I guess. Kath didnt want me to do it, because she didnt want Darcy doing it either. Funny because Darcy was doing a log top roll that I didnt want to do, but Kath chickened me into doing it! LOL
Have they been altered?
We rode the track yesterday after lunch and the gaps were still there????? See I would not mess with sombodys hard work, only suggest things..... Shame.
the first double after the log may have been shortened
On Sunday someone said it looked like the first double after the log had been shortened, maybe by about 30cm. It's still challenging and mighty exciting the first time you try. Paul, you can get in a few pedal strokes after the log if needed to get enough speed. The last double has a bigger gap but the ramp is higher and there is more vertical drop to the downramp so it's not too bad to clear.
Loving the new trails and
Loving the new trails and loving riding there.
My only caution would be that all this stuff is at end of a 8.9km loop if you want to bring it inline you should have some qualifiers or filters at the start so riders can get to know how hard it is before they commit. Failing that a sign should be at the start telling people that the A lines aren't rollable.
Turner Hill
How many people commenting have helped at the working days arranged by Trackman at Turner Hill? who by the way has spent more time building track than anyone else. The group I ride with has been to 3 days and rehabilitated old trails before and after working days to allow the building of new sections for everyone to ride (including motorbikes F$%#*&s) IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN DONT RIDE IT AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE HARD WORK BY THE FEW FOR THE MANY. No one forces us to ride the A lines and there are plenty of alterates so enjoy the track or find something more your style elsewhere. There seems to be a lot of people who can critique after the event but the track may not suit everyone and this is the best thing about Turner Hill it has a bit of everything so Harden up and enjoy the track without complaining. No one is forcing any one to ride it and I hope the club will clean up the danger tape after the racing on the weekend for the benifit ot the regular riders on the track (JC). And for the people who changed the track without approval you should come and help when it is needed or Stay away so it does not end up like all the illegal tracks we already have.
Thor don't take it too
Thor don't take it too personally. Just appreciate that what you have done is great work for you and for these other peoples enjoyment. I certainly appreciate it. I think some of the comments being made are more a discussion. I haven't seen the new a line mods yet but I probably won't do them first up and will have to progress to that. That is the beauty of racing/riding. I know people who have looked at them and thought they looked too hard but talking to Tim B, and looking at what Jon has said maybe they aren't quite as hard as they look. And yes the best thing is everyone else can take the B line.
Turner Hill is more than just a race course and some of Jamie's mods possibly aren't suited to racing but there are other options and we will use some of them this weekend.
As for the Tape. You'll notice it isn't up yet just to keep you regulars as happy as always. I will put it up Saturday or Sunday morning and at the end of the race everyone will have left with everything they took out there including their gel wrappers.
Hmmm
I may actually give this line a go. I had a look at it already and over the week i've been thinking about it and think i should be able to do it.
So can anyone sane tell me if you have to pedal hard for it or whether you can just roll down there? And are the gaps as big as they look?
Cheers
