Hello folks
I have a set of Crossmax XL wheels and have had a loose freehub for a while. It works OK but there is a white plastic bush / seal face that the inner (spoke side) end of the freehub seems to ride on and I suspect that it is excessively worn.
Due to my hamfisted fitting style (and possibly the wear), it has now failed so the quandry over whether I should fix it or ignore it is now resolved... I have previously asked 2 local shops what they can do about the loose freehub and apparently they didn't have any answers.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier of bits for these? Does anyone know of a parts list? I think the ratchet pawls are worn as well as they shed a few bits of steel everytime I strip it to lubricate it.
It does pull apart easily and I looks like it is meant to be rebuilt, it is a sensible design if the bush can be replaced.
Thanks

You will need to replace
You will need to replace your freehub, and it is not a bad idea to replace your pawls while you are at it.
Where abouts are you located?
I'm down at Fleet Cycles in Mandurah and I have exactly the same wheelset, and had exactly the same problem around a month ago, so we can sort you out.
If your in the metro area head to Fleet in Freo and ask for Jon, he has a mavic service kit and the expertise to sort you out (he taught me how to work on my Mavic wheelset).
Just a warning; Mavic replacement parts are not cheap...
And yes, routine mainternance is a must on Mavic hubs!
