Tyres - How much difference do they make

Hi all
i have completed a few races this year, in sport b, people talk about different tyres, but do they make that much of a difference?
ie Maxxis Ignitors vs Huchisons Pirahanas

Yea, good tyres help. I use holy-rolers (DJ/street tyre) and they work well, but I'll bet none of the XC guys will try them ;)

I got a pair of huchos' with one of my bikes. The side wall can cause loss of stability in the case of low tyre pressure. anything under 30psi and the bikes got a mind of its own. Just a thought.

how much difference does the one part of the bike that actually touches the ground make? tons, you've gotta have the right tyres for what you're riding
Yeah, my mates got a pair of
Yeah, my mates got a pair of Huch Pythons and I love their traction but the thin side walls can really put you off balance.
