HA

I kept the comment short because thats about all the details I have! I've been trying for a while to get the cat I know that lives in Margs to spill the beans but as yet...no joy. I'm pretty keen to suss out riding spots down there cause MR dirt is very attractive. In a dirty sort of way

Margret River

Hey Guys I rode down there about 4 months ago and there are a few tracks just outside of town off the disused train track that heads north out of town. There is a track both sides of the river and off this track I found 3 tracks heading off up into the hills probably rode about 30kms for the day including the down hills sections more of fast single track with a few jumps thrown in in the sections I found a few big ones at the end that go down and out of the railway cutting. Tracks run through the town and info from info centre hope this helps good luck

Trails

I know there is some decent trails down there.
There is or was a mtb tour business, I think its call "Dirty Deeds tours" or something like that. Try a google search.
I have met a few locals at sw club meetings, they were keen to get the area more open and organised for out of towners.
I have helped the the building of the old and newer cross country race tracks which are only about 4-5km apart and close to town. The old one might be over grown but then it might not be.
Try the local bike shop also. dont ask me what is though

Slim pickings

There is a good trail network on the right hand side of Carters rd just on the North end of town. Park in the 1st car park and head across the road and down the hill. They are mainly xc but heaps of fun.
Heading to bunker bay from dunsborough there is a gravel car park on your right. Near the golf course there is a good amount of grom tracks in there.
There are also some great roads that the 4wd's use to get down to the beaches, down in Boranup forest. There are some xc in there too. Great for shuttles. They have large speed hump sort of things that launch you for miles. Ask your local surfies.
If you want a drive head to Dardenup.
Good riden.

carters rd is the gold

There is quite a bit of XC singletrack riding to the left of Carters road when you head about 1-2km north from MR. There are some jumps and TTF's that may interest a DH rider though. To the right of carters road just north of the Rails to Trails track (to Cowarumup) there are several short runs of downhill in the pine forest. There may be more here that I didn't find.

There are a couple of really nice flowy XC singletrack sections in the Boranup forest on the eastern side of Boranup Drive. Once again there may be more in here that I didn't find.

Maybe ask Shayne at the bike shop in Station st. He is a downhill rider.

Carters rd pines

Oh yeh I forgot about the pines on carters rd. they are on the right hand side and shuttle-able. A few different lines too.
