Well the dirt is finally soft from the rain so the final changes will be happening this week for the first 4x race of the year.
Its been a long time coming but 4x is back bigger than ever.
This year will see the first official races at the Flash new Goatfarm track but we will kick it off with the first state round race at Pingelly.
After discussion with Tony Davis (Perth Mtb 4x rep) that we will focus on just getting more people into racing, This year you can race regardless of class for a mere $20. Cheap eh. So bring your mates, your little brother and even your Grandma for a killer race day.
So here's the go:
Saturday 1-5pm Practice & Rego available on Saturday.
As with last time the track will be open to those who have registered for practice to get well acquainted with the course.
Accommodation and tenting available
Dorms are available $15 per person and Tents $14 per site (2 people) includes use of hot showers kitchen etc.
If you are able to help setup the new DH state race event, we will be meeting at the Goatfarm on Friday 29th May at 1:30pm to bunt the course.
Please and Thank You!
Clubba.
A BIG Thanks to DEC for approving a new combination of some previous tracks. There will be a busy bee to get the goatfarm tracks back up to scratch and to create a few new lines to join some older tracks (1990s National rd rock garden & the old school playground area) into one cool track. We will be meeting at GF on Sunday 24th May at 9:00am. Just bring some food and beverages as well as a shovel and rake if you can? We will divide into some groups to get this new combined track into shape.
Cheers,
Clubber.
Ok so we all know the bad news about Bridgey, but eh we have got some great news—it is usually a requirement by DEC to get 8 weeks notice to apply for a race/ event on their land so getting the GF with only a couple weeks notice is great. Thanks DEC for your support. We will probably be having a busy bee to get the tracks at GF up to par for a state event—they just need some TLC. Check the PMBC announcements as to when we’ll meet for some needed maintenance to some of the tracks.
We plan to run a combined track: using the 'State Champs' & the 'A-Kline' similar, yet different to the club event that pushed 2 minutes out of the GF in 2008. The PMBC Committee members will be scouting the tracks soon to see which combination will work the best to provide a fast, flowy, yet technical & challenging race track.
Yes, I know—What The?
Yes, that's right I have to be the informer of bad news again, but we have not received our Certificate of Insurance for this event so without insurance there can be no race. The owner (Rocco) of Golden Grove Orchard must be covered by public liability insurance and we have not been able to receive proper documentation so we'll cancel the event for now, but we will have it later in the year.
Don't worry I've already got the certificate for Bridgetown so there's no worries about insurance for that private land event.
Again, I apologise for the inconvenience and extremely late notice, but we the PMBC committee are working extremely hard and some issues/ circumstances are out of our control no matter how organised we are.
Cheers,
Steve 'Clubber...of Seals' Buursema
President DH PMBC
Sorry but after Nannup, we will need a week to recover!
Cheers,
Clubber.
Attention all sub-18s that's right I'm talkin' to you Ju-JJUU--Junior. On a Serious note, please don't get drop off by your parents at any PMBC races without having your parents sign the parental/ guardian, consent/ permition section of the race entry forms...you can get them on this website in many areas, race online rego info section; and the Nannup race blog ...etc.
Cheers,
Clubber.
Ps. I've even attached one here...see below for download of race entry form.

The trail is marked and is the same as last year. We will do some work on the track in the lead up tot he race to get ready for the number of people riding on the trail. It is the same great track that Steph provided last year just without the rain!
