Yeah that’s right we are going to be mixing it up a bit this year and for round three, down in Dwelli, we will be running a two stage event. This means we will be racing two separate tracks (both start and finish in the same area) for the one event on the Murray Valley side of the river. Each rider will still get two timed race-runs, but one on each track. Then the results of each category will be added together to determine the winner of each division for PMBC Club Round 3.
Speciality Volunteers:
We need some volunteers to help with marshalling and the start gate for the round 3, PMBC Dh race at Murray Valley, Dwellingup. I will need about 4 to 5 Marshalls and 2 people to supervise the start gate. These six or seven volunteers will be able to nominate a race person of their choice for free entry. I would suggest doing the online rego and selecting pay on day, and on race day (Sunday 13th) when you check in, you will be able to let us know who is selected for free rego and they don't need to pay. If your able to help us run this event could you please send me an e-mail ASAP to: dh@perthmtb.com
Regular volunteers:
Well guys it’s time to get ready for round 2 of the state 4x series coming up on the 19th and 20th of July.
Once again it will be held at the Paddock in Pingelly (described as WA’s most rideable 4x track), this time with more lines, more jumps and more racing action as well as great food and a live band on Saturday night, plus cash and prizes thanks to Fleet Cycles Mandurah, Full Tilt and Beyond Skate.
Here is the program for the weekend:
Saturday 19th 1-5pm Practice As with last time the track will be open to those who have pre registered for practice to get well acquainted with the course.
7pm- For those sticking around there will be a sausage sizzle available in the evening and a live band (the Cartridges) will be playing from 8pm.
Accommodation and tenting available
Dorms are available $15 per person and Tents $14 per site (2 people) includes use of hot showers.
Please call Cleon on 0488 792 118 to book.
Speciality Volunteers:
We need some volunteers to help with marshalling and the start gate for the round 2, PMBC Dh race at Golden Grove. I will need about 4 Marshalls and one person to supervise the start gate. These five volunteers will be able to nominate a race person of their choice for free entry. I would suggest doing the online rego and selecting pay on day, and when you let us know who is selected for free rego they don't need to pay on Sunday. If your able to help us run this event could you please send me an e-mail ASAP to: dh@perthmtb.com
Regular volunteers:
I will personally need about 10 to 15 volunteers to help set-up the race track (bunting, timing cables laid out, setting up tents...etc) this will include being there on Sat 21st from 9:30am and again Sunday about 7:30am to set up for racing, and then Sunday afternoon about 3pm to take down the track and tents...etc. If you're available please e-mail me at above mentioned address.
Yes it's on! That’s right it’s time for round 2 of the PMBC race series, at Golden Grove orchard in the Chittering Valley (opposite 3 Chillies). This site is a private farm, so access outside of race day is not permitted. As usual there will be no official practice on Saturday and due to the nature of the place, shuttle service will not be available. However, this area is packed full of variety, with lots of rock gardens and open fast sections. The course is quite long and as always their will be some slight changes to the course, but it will keep most of the same lines from last year.
First things first, we will need people if able to volunteer for Marshalling,Timing, etc etc.
Warning: We have been informed by DEC that they are expecting around 5000 people through the Lane Poole Reserve over the june longweekend, so please take extra care in the area.
Practise and racing details are listed below there is no pre rego. As per usaull present your MTBA card/slip or you will need to purchase a day license.
Full shuttled runs will be provided both days. Currently there is 2 buses scheduled but we may look at a 3rd.

Just to make it absolutely clear:
Peel Club race is now on 18th May; &
The State Round #2 race is now in Dwellingup on the 1st June.
For details on the Peel race this weekend got to www.pdmbc.com
The PMBC committee members discussed the possibility of holding a fifth state round to make up for the lost round at Geraldton. We have decided to consider making another PMBC round into a dual points rd.
The Three Chillies PMBC club race will not be a State rd as previously suggested because of the change of race format. Keep checking the web for details of the new race challenge format for the Three Chillies PMBC round.
Cheers,
Clubber.
Well if you weren't at Nannup racing on the Anzac long-weekend, you probably aren't aware that Paul D. had one of the nastiest crashes we’ve seen for a long time (it happened off the large rock huck in the first rock garden).
First of all, Paul will be OK. Second, Paul sent me a SMS from Bridge town hospital to ask me to thank all those people involved in getting him off the hill—Thanks! Third, Paul suffered a broken bone on the side of the spine, but there is no spinal damage. Also, he has a small broken bone in his left hand. On top of all that he has ended up with some severe bruising to his legs, back, & buttocks. Today Paul received news that he should be out of hospital tomorrow (Thursday 1st May).
On behalf of PMBC and all the riding crew I would like to wish Paul a smooth and speedy recovery. All the best Paul, we hope to see you out on a bike soon.
Cheers,
Steve “Clubber of Seals” Buursema

PMBC will be holding the first State round of the 2008 season in the Lewana Pine Plantation, Nannup. Although the calendar stated otherwise, PRACTISE WILL BE ON SAT 26th and RACING ON Sun 27th of April (ANZAC long weekend). The Nannup track was designed specifically for the 2005 National Round held there and is by far the best DH that WA has to offer. Sam Hill was one of the lead designers of the track, and it offers way more vertical drop than anything else around. It also offers some of the biggest variety of obstacles, with a huge double jump (optional), to fast fire road at the top, one of the best rock garden sections around, then into single-track (very technical) down through the deep-dark woods, complete with terraces, step downs and fully walled berms!
Online Rego:
Hi all
We will be conducting another working bee at Turner hill on Sunday the 6th July starting at about 8.30am. There is one more new downhill section to be cut in and one old section to be rebuilt. This trail is really coming along well and if you havent already riden out there since all the work has been done I strongly suggest you check it out.
Hopefully we will be riding by 2.30-3pm depending on the numbers we get, the more we get the quicker we are cranking some sweet laps.
What to bring - spades, rakes, gloves, matocks lunch and your rig.
If the weather is going to be nasty on the day I will reschedule it for another time. I have checked the weather out and should be ok, just bring a jacket :)
Any questions just flick me an email trackman1@aapt.net.au
Cheers
Jamie Campbell
The XC State Round 3 will be held at Cycletrek Nature Park, on the Ferguson-Lowden-Grimwade Rd, Lowden (15km from Wellington Mills) on Sun June the 22nd. It is an excellent track and worth the drive. As you are heading down the South West Highway from Perth some kms after Burekup there is a Gull servo (on the right and side of the road) - turn left into Waterloo Rd (opposite the Gull servo) at this point. Continue on this road which will bring you out at the Dardanup-Ferguson Rd. Turn left and follow that all the way (past Gnomesville). From Gnomesville turn into Wellington Lowden Rd which will take you to Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Rd, Lowden (Preston Valey store is on right corner - open 7am to 7pm). Cross straight over into Lowden-Grimwade Rd. The track is 4kms from the corner - no 416, first driveway on right hand side after you hit the gravel.
RESULTS POSTED - SEE RESULTS FORUM - Final Turnout: 299 riders

Pre-registraion helps us hugely so get on-line and keep the entries coming!!!
A Full Rider/Team List will be posted up Saturday morning so you can check out your competition.
For those waiting for the weather to clear, it could be a bit damp in the morning but have faith the day will be GREAT!
On arrival to Langford Park Sunday Morning have a gold coin donation ready for the Volunteer Fire Fighters.
Parking will be tight, follow the directions given to you by the marshalls.
There will be a gear drop off zone only located at the bottom car park by the permanent toilet bock, then all cars are to drive all the way to the top car park (it will be well signed), there is to be NO stopping/parking/unloading at the intersecting fire roads at the top of the course, there is no room to stop and it causes unwanted choas.
